Catholic Heart Work Camp is a week-long religious work trip to various places around the country. CHWC was founded in 1993 by a couple who were both youth ministers in Winter Park, Florida. They came up with the idea because they had both worked in many non-denominational work camps and they agreed that they all lacked the Catholic Spirit. The first CHWC only consisted of 100 people, and their "office" consisted of a desk and chair. It is safe to say that Catholic Heart has grown majorly over the years. Catholic Heart's Mission is, "To share the love of Christ as we serve the neglected, brokenhearted and the marginalized in any way needed. Equally, to inspire participants to live as disciples of Christ through serving others as a way of life; and to foster the Catholic Faith of each participant through the sacraments, prayer and involvement in social service." Catholic Heart has guest singers such as, PJ Anderson, Alex Street Music, Joe Farris, and more who sing and preach with the crowd through the entirety of the week. As students and chaperones you take on the week with the outlook of, "I want to help others." I have attended CHWC for two years and I can proudly say that it has changed my life. It has thoroughly improved my Catholic faith. Senior Nolan Burkhardt says, "It is a great experience, you meet so many people that are on their journey through their faith and it is a very strengthening and faith filled adventure."

Eucharistic Adoration is a practice favored by many Catholics as a way to spend personal time with Jesus Christ without the interruption of worldly things. Adoration is one of the four types of prayer, along with Atonement, Supplication, and Thanksgiving. The Concise Dictionary of Theology defines adoration as “the highest reverence to be offered only to God, our creator, redeemer, and sanctifier who alone should be worshiped and glorified.” The scriptures make it very clear that our offering can be unacceptable if it is not done with full heart and mind; it should be heartfelt and truthful, done with the full intent to praise God and nothing else. During Adoration, the priest places the sacred host inside the monstrance, which is a vessel designed to visualize God’s glory and give us something to focus on as we adore.

Seton Catholic High School students participate in Adoration on the first Friday of every month. They usually spend upwards of 30 minutes praying in front of the holy presence of Jesus in the monstrance. On these same Fridays all students end the day with benediction. During benediction Father Sengall leads the church in a short adoration and series of prayers, ending with the faithful being blessed with the Sacred host.

World Youth Day is an international celebration with the Pope that happens every three years in a different country. We celebrated this worldwide encounter at the beginning of August this year. From August 1 to August 6, World Youth Day was celebrated in Lisbon, Portugal. This celebration is open to all young people who want to feel closer to Jesus Christ with their peers. World Youth Day is an opportunity to give hope to many young people who are being committed to the Church and to Jesus Christ. This celebration can help deepen your faith to feel and be closer to God and to Jesus Christ. The next World Youth Day will be held in Seoul, Korea and it would most likely take place in the summer of 2027.
