This week's Senior Slay is Ryan Gethers. He has attended Seton since he was in Preschool. Ryan's favorite memory in high school is "Catholic Heart Work Camp going into my junior year. This was a new experience to get away from the normal life and to experience new things in new areas, while helping others and growing in my faith." His advice to younger students is "to not get bogged down by certain assignments or tests. Make sure you put your time in, but don't over do it to where you are drained mentally because nobody is perfect. As long as you try, that is what matters." His plans for the future "are to go to college, but I am unsure of where." The sport he played in high school was basketball and said "this was a fun experience because of the feelings I have formed for the game over time, but also to make memories with friends to take with me." His favorite class is ACP Chemistry with Mr. Reichley. He said: "this might be surprising because it was a difficult class, but it was fun learning from Mr. Reichley, as well as challenging myself." When we asked Ryan what his most slay moment in high school is he said, "I don't have a specific moment in mind, but something I can think of is when the juniors beat the seniors in the games at the end of the year, and the excitement that was felt afterwards." A fun fact about Ryan is that he is left handed.

Trick or Treating was practiced in the early 20th century specifically in Irish and Scottish immigrant communities. Trick or Treating didn't really spread until the 1920's and 1930's, while Halloween pranking raged. Annual Trick or Treating is held every year, this year, Trick or Treating was held in Richmond, Indiana on October 28th, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. There were many students that dressed up for Halloween; down below are some pictures of some Seton students having fun and getting in on the fun!

This year's varsity boys basketball team is looking very promising with a lot of returning players and same head coach that led the team to the IHSAA Sectional Championship as they they fell just short to Blue River Valley. Seton has a very strong starting line up with three seniors, Malik Walker, Andrew Warner, and Mason Harvey, and two juniors, Eric Parker and Jason Moynihan. On the bench there are multiple players that can sub in all around. At the scrimmage against the Lincoln Golden Eagles, the boys won 3/4 quarters and tied the 4th one. Coach Josh Jurgens rotated players in and out seeing how they all worked together and to let them show their talents. This year's seniors have promising hopes about taking the team to a sectional win.

The junior varsity (JV) team has some new and returning talent. This team is lined up with eight sophomores, six of them who are returning. The team also has two new freshmen who showed a lot of growth and talent in their one-quarter scrimmage against the Lincoln Golden Eagles. During this scrimmage the JV team was blowing everyone away with their talent.
