On April 4, 2024 Seton Catholic High School held the last blood drive of the school year. Seton Catholic registered 33 participants and collected 28 units of blood saving 84 lives. Did you know about 1 in 7 people arrive at the hospital needing blood? One pint of blood can save up to three lives and it only takes about 10-15 minutes to donate. Donating blood can help multiple people for multiple different reasons. Sickle cell disease affects 90,000 to 100,000 people in the U.S. alone and about 1,000 babies are born needing blood transfusions throughout their life. Donating blood helps people who are in need for it. Most hospitals are in need of type O blood, so when you get the chance, donate to help and save others. One donation could help hospitals in need. The schedule for next school year for all blood drives will be out soon. Consider giving the gift of life.

Our last all school Mass of this year was Wednesday, April 17th. It was held at Saint Mary's Church and hosted by the Primary building. All school Masses bring all the students and staff from all three campuses along with their families together as a family. We started with a prayer led by Mrs. Becker, the principal of the Primary and Intermediate buildings, and then continued with the Mass procession led by Fr. Sengole. When I asked Fabian Aleman what his favorite part about going to all school Mass was he said, ¨My favorite part had to be hearing the choir sing Agnus Dei, it was really amazing." Mrs. Dorsten said, ¨It was nice to see all of the schools coming together to celebrate Mass and my favorite part was when the choir sang Agnus Dei¨. Being able to attend all school Mass three times a year is such an amazing experience. Being able to celebrate our faith with so many different people of all ages and from our parish is a blessing. Ever since preschool when I started attending Seton, all school Mass has been something I look forward to and still do.
