On April 4, 2024 Seton Catholic High School held the last blood drive of the school year. Seton Catholic registered 33 participants and collected 28 units of blood saving 84 lives. Did you know about 1 in 7 people arrive at the hospital needing blood? One pint of blood can save up to three lives and it only takes about 10-15 minutes to donate. Donating blood can help multiple people for multiple different reasons. Sickle cell disease affects 90,000 to 100,000 people in the U.S. alone and about 1,000 babies are born needing blood transfusions throughout their life. Donating blood helps people who are in need for it. Most hospitals are in need of type O blood, so when you get the chance, donate to help and save others. One donation could help hospitals in need. The schedule for next school year for all blood drives will be out soon. Consider giving the gift of life.
