Father Nick

Father Nick Pagano was ordained in May of 2006 and has been a priest for 17 years. He was ordained in the Diocese of Lexington at the age of 59 when God had called him to do more with his life while attending Adoration. Father Nick attended seminary school three times. The first seminary school he attended was in Philadelphia, St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, from his senior year of high school until graduation. He was awarded a BA in Philosophy with a minor in Education. The second seminary school he attended was the New York City, St Joseph Seminary. As a lay student and he received a MS in Theology. His third time attending seminary was in Wisconsin, Sacred Heart Seminary. This is a seminary that specializes in second career students studying to become a priest. This is where Father Nick received his MS Div. and was ordained to serve the Diocese of Lexington Kentucky. Ever since then he has been serving the community and fulfilling his job as a priest, as God called him to do.

Father Nick’s most cherished duty as a priest is celebrating the Sacrament of Anointing with individuals who are in the dying process. This is especially moving when family members are present because it is a beautiful gift of God's consolation for the person in need and family members. Father Nick loves to help people who are confused or hurt by what is happening in their lives by giving them spiritual advice and directions. Father Nick loves all parts of being a priest. He said, “the worst day as a priest has been better than any other day of my life before I was ordained.”
