Swimming Preview

The Swim Team consists of coaches Oleh Olikhnovych, and assistant coach Yana Gelek. The girls swimmers are Seniors: Sophia Coyner, Bella Diehl, Mekenna McDonald, Juniors: Jackie Clemente, Jana Clemente, Bella Cornell, Sophomore: Rosie Fraley, and Freshman: Gracie Hudson. Senior Sophie says, "Swim has a great team dynamic, and everyone is constantly in support of each other no matter if you meet your goals or not." Also, Junior Bella Cornell says that although this is her first year trying swim she is enjoying learning all the new things of swim. Make sure to stop by at the Centerville pool and see our swimmers compete!

Advent

Advent starts this year on December 3rd, and will last until December 24th. Advent is the beginning of the liturgical year, and is period of waiting and anticipation for Christians. The word "Advent" comes from the the Latin word "Adventus" which means "coming or arrival." The season of advent anticipates the coming of Christ from three angles: The physical nativity in Bethlehem, The reception of Christ in the hearts of the believers, and the eschatological second coming of Jesus Christ. Traditionally, a wreath with four candles is set out, and one candle is lit every week.

Junior High Girls Preview

After picking up some wins last year, and having an overall solid season, the Cardinals are coming back for more! The Cardinals only return two players from last year, but will have plenty of athleticism on the floor with several multi-sport athletes. Though experience will be lacking at the beginning of the year, the Cardinals can overcome it with plenty of athletic ability and a disruptive defense. All three coaches are returning for their third go-around as head of the Junior High Girls basketball department. While there isn’t a high school girls basketball team this year, some of the high school players are coming to practice with the Junior High girls which gives them some great competition. These girls will be exciting to watch play this year. You are missing out if you skip a game!
