Jesus Take the Wheel is a current donation project to help Seton Catholic replace our old blue busses. The busses were used for many years for the school and parish activities. Instead of getting busses this time, we are hoping to get four new 12 passenger vans. We asked Mr. Elstro and Mrs. Evicks why this was so important to them and they both were so excited to tell us. Mr. Elstro said, "This project is not only important to me, but should be important to you ( and all students ) too! Our little buses that have served us well over the years are now becoming a maintenance burden. Jesus, take the Wheel is our prayer and our project name for a bus a replacement project....We are embarking on a transformative journey to establish a sustainable transportation plan that will benefit our school community for years to come." Mrs. Evicks added by saying "I feel that the safety of our students should always be a priority."

With your help we can get there! If you want to donate to this project please contact - Tim Elstro - telstro@setoncatholics.org - 795.962.3902 ext 1018

The Michigan Wolverines took home the 2023-2024 season National Championship, knocking down the Washington Huskies with a score of 34-13. Michigan boasted a strong lock down defense, picking apart Michael Penix Jr. and the Huskies' offensive line with two interceptions, a sack, and 59 total tackles. In total, the Wolverine defensive line held Washington to fewer total yards (301) than their own rushing offense (303). Penix had a very competitive season, averaging 66.7% passes completed and 337 yards per game. During the national final, however, he only completed 53% percent of passes for 255 yards.

Michigan Quarterback J.J. McCarthy threw for 140 yards and clocked his longest carry of the season at 22 Yards. Defensive back Will Johnson earned Defensive MVP with a third-quarter interception and four TOT's. Blake Corum received Offensive MVP after 134 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns; these two touchdowns pushed Corum to 58 touchdowns in his career, setting a new school record. Head Coach Jim Harbaugh won his first national championship with the Wolverine after 9 seasons.

Over winter break, the Seton boys varsity basketball team participated in the 17th annual Wettig Tournament. Throughout the course of the tournament they competed against four different teams starting on December 28th. The Annual Bob Wettig Tournament is a series of basketball games which gathers high school basketball teams from counties across Indiana. The tournament takes place in the Tiernan Center at Richmond High School. Robert E. Wettig was an equipment manager at the Richmond High School. Wettig unfortunately passed away in May of 2007 after his long battle with cancer. Bob still remains an influence for many athletes, students, coaches, and administrators. The Wettig tournament began in 2007 and has been an annual tradition ever since. Through this tournament, Wettig’s name continues to live on and continues to inspire.
